Meijin may have gone through development hell. He was first annouced in a July 2023 Weibo post. Progress on Meijin would not be revealed until a July 2024 post, nearly one year later. Two months later, a September 2024 post revealed Meijin's colored prototype. This post also came with the annoucement that Meijin's first print bonus would be a mace, with a second (Blade Gun) only avalible at a specific retailer (Su Tang Toys). After receiving fan feedback, MoRise (then KEMO) announced in an October 2024 post that they would include both first run bonuses through all retailers, along with clear red armor parts. Finally, in an update posted a few days later, MoRise/KEMO stated that the clear armor parts would be "more dynamic" and updated them to include more parts, along with annoucing a new material that would give off a matte finish.
Meijin was intended to be the first Armored Puppet to introduce the new Core Body 2.0, however, delays in his production caused E.C.A.S to debut with the body instead.
